THE SPECTACULAR SPARKLER 8S FROM HOLLISTON

The Holliston Sparker 8s finished 5-2-1 in the regular season which seeded them third entering the playoffs, including a first round bye. A regular season highlight was a resolute come from behind tie 5-5 against Framingham (the eventual tournament champion) after a controversial call early in the game. After defeating Bellingham in the quarterfinals Holliston lost to Hopkinton (last year’s Sparkler champion) in the semifinals . The Holliston boys played well for their first time playing together as a team. They learned a lot and continued to improve throughout the season. There were commanding performances as well as some tough losses but the Sparker 8s had a great time playing in the tournament!
Thanks to head coach Wayne Chestna, and assistant coaches Ben McDonald, Steve Raisman, Jim Faletra, Richard Brodsky, Matt Coletti and the numerous other parents that helped out this summer.
